Preparing for a trip with kids can be stressful. However, the snacks don’t have to be!  Here are 5 kid approved travel snack recipes that will be easy to take with you.  These recipes are super easy to make and can even be customized to add or take out ingredients for those picky eaters.  

5 Kid Approved Travel Snack Recipes:

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 large mashed bananas
  • 3/5 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup melted butter

Instructions:

  •  Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Coat muffin pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.  Set aside.
  • Combine bananas, sugar, egg, and melted butter in a large bowl.  Fold in flour mixture and mix until smooth.
  • Scoop mix into muffin pans.
  • Bake in preheated oven 10 to 15 minutes for small muffins, or 25 to 30 minutes for large muffins.

Instructions:

  • Measure out ingredients.
  • Place all ingredients together in a large bowl. 
  • Mix together.

  • 3 cups old fashioned oats
  • 2 cups unsweetened puff wheat cereal
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/3 cup raisins
  • 1/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup honey
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Combine first 8 ingredients in large bowl.
  • In small bowl, combine honey, butter, vanilla. Pour over oat mixture and mix well (until sticky)
  • Press into 13×9 baking pan coated with cooking spray.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 14-18 minutes or until set.
  • Cool on wire rack. Cut bars.

  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • ½ cup ground flax seeds
  • 2 tablespoons honey

Instructions:

  • Stir to combine.
  • Place in refrigerator for 15-30 minutes.
  • Roll small bite size balls.
  • Store in refrigerator.

  • 10 cups popped popcorn
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup melted butter

  • Bake at 300 degrees for 10 minutes or until crisp.
  • Chop or crush until fine.
  • Place popcorn in large bowl.
