Day one On this unforgettable combo tour, you will enjoy the beauty of both New Hampshire’s White Mountains and Stowe, Vermont. You will travel north into the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Here you will stay for the next two nights at the deluxe White Mountain Hotel & Resort. Nestled beneath scenic White Horse Ledge, this beautiful resort hotel features year-round heated outdoor pool and hot tub, Himalayan salt sauna, health club and all the services and amenities that make it a world-class resort. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the hotel’s friendly staff followed by a Welcome Reception in the Tullamore Tavern. This evening you will dine off the-menu and at your leisure in the elegant Ledges Restaurant followed by fabulous entertainment in the Echo Ballroom.
Day two After another wonderful breakfast in Ledges, you will depart for the Conway Scenic Railroad for a majestic ride aboard the supremely scenic “Mountaineer” to Crawford Notch Depot. While on board, you will enjoy an included picnic lunch while you view some of the most magnificent scenery in the northeast. You will then travel back to the hotel and experience the breathtaking views of Franconia Notch and the Kancamagus Highway. This evening you will enjoy another wonderful dinner in Ledges Restaurant.
Day three After another wonderful breakfast in Ledges, you will depart the White Mountain Hotel for Vermont, stopping at the Rocks Estate, home of the NH Forest Society’s sustainable Christmas Tree Farm. Here you will enjoy an educational program about the history of the estate with a focus on the Moose and Bear population found throughout NH. After your visit at the Rocks, you will continue on to Vermont stopping in the state’s capital of Montpelier for lunch on your own. After lunch, you will make a stop at Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks, famous for their maple syrup. Here you will learn about the maple syrup and sugaring processes. This stop is always a favorite! After your visit at Morse Farm, you will arrive and check-in at the iconic von Trapp Family Lodge. Tonight you will enjoy a fabulous included dinner in the Main Dining Room.
Day four This morning you will enjoy an extensive breakfast buffet in the Main Dining Room. After breakfast, you will experience the von Trapp History Tour which gives you an in depth look at how the von Trapps escaped Austria and ended up in beautiful Stowe, Vermont. You won’t want to miss this fascinating and most memorable tour! After your tour, you will visit Cold Hollow Cider, where you will see the cider press and enjoy a short educational video on the process of making apple cider. You will have the opportunity to sample some complimentary cider and purchase some of their legendary cider donuts. You will also have time to explore their gift shop for all your Vermont souvenirs, Vermont maple syrup, cider jelly, mustards, mill-made fudge, and much more! After your visit at Cold Hollow, you will have time for lunch on your own in Waterbury, but save room for a sweet treat. After lunch you will make a stop at Ben & Jerry’s for a factory tour and visit…a Vermont favorite! A cool and delicious topping on your afternoon. You will then return to the Lodge with time to relax and enjoy the property before dinner. Tonight you will enjoy dinner with an Austrian flair in the von Trapp Brewing Bierhall. Try their freshly brewed von Trapp Brewing lagers and local hard cider while enjoying dinner in this unique Austrian atmosphere!
Day five Enjoy the breakfast buffet again this morning before heading for home with many pleasant memories of your visits to New Hampshire and Vermont, and your stays at the beautiful White Mountain Hotel & Resort and iconic von Trapp Family Lodge.
