April 18, 2026: Arrival and Explore Chicago, IL — Arrive in Chicago and check into your hotel downtown. Relax, then walk to the “The Mother Road” starting point at the Historic Route 66 Begin Sign for photos. Enjoy a Chicago-style deep dish pizza dinner at Giordano’s or The Exchequer. End the day with an Evening Architecture River Cruise, experiencing the city’s architecture beautifully transition from day to night (DINNER)
April 19, 2026: Chicago, Pontiac, Springfield, IL — Drive by Willis Tower and stop at Lou Mitchell’s, the “first stop on the Mother Road,” for a classic diner breakfast featuring pancakes, waffles, and “the world’s finest coffee.” Then leave Chicago, driving Old Route 66 to visit Ambler’s Texaco in Dwight and Standard Oil in Odell, followed by a tour of the Route 66 Association in Pontiac. Post-lunch, continue to Towanda, Normal, and Lincoln, IL. Check into your Springfield hotel and cap the day at Cozy Dog, the birthplace of the corn dog.(BREAKFAST AND DINNER)
April 20, 2026: Springfield, IL to St. Louis, MO — Start your day at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum to learn about Lincoln and the Civil War, and visit his Springfield home. Then, head to St. Louis, MO, stopping along Route 66 in Auburn, Virden, Girard, and Litchfield, with a visit to Mt Olive and Granite City before reaching the Chain of Rocks Bridge. In St. Louis, tour the Gateway Arch with a tram ride to the top. Spend the evening exploring downtown St. Louis, including Union Station, the Ballpark, and the Mississippi waterfront. April 21, 2026: Meramec Caverns to Springfield, MO –After lunch, head west to Meramec Caverns for a guided tour of the mineral formations. Then, visit Cuba to see the 14 murals. Continue along Route 66, stopping at landmarks like the Giant Rocking Chair and Giant Faucet, and visit the Route 66 Motors & Gift Shop in Rolla. End the day in Springfield, MO, with dinner at Jimm’s Steakhouse and an overnight stay. (BREAKFAST)
April 22, 2026: Springfield, MO to Tulsa, OK — After breakfast, leave Springfield and visit Route 66 landmarks including Gary Gay Parita, Spencer, Avilla, Carthage, and Joplin, MO. Continue to Kansas with a photo stop at Cars on the Route in Galena and the Marsh Arch Bridge. In Oklahoma, tour the historic Coleman Theater in Miami, and make stops at Ed Gallaway’s Totem Pole Park and the Blue Whale. Arrive in Tulsa, OK, to explore various points including Cyrus Avery Plaza, known as the Father of Route 66, and spend the evening exploring the town. (BREAKFAST)
April 23, 2026: Tulsa to Oklahoma City — Start your day at Tulsa’s Route 66 Historical Village, then travel the Mother Road, stopping in Sapulpa for Gasoline Alley Classics and the Rock Café. Visit Chandler’s Route 66 Interpretive Center and McJerry’s Route 66 Gallery. Continue to Seaba Station Motorcycle Museum, Arcadia Round Barn, and POPS with its 600 soda varieties. End the day at Oklahoma City’s First Americans Museum, exploring the histories of 39 First American Nations, then head to your Bricktown hotel for the evening. (BREAKFAST)
April 24, 2026: Oklahoma City to Amarillo — Visit the Oklahoma City National Memorial, then drive Route 66 west, stopping in Clinton to visit the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum, which explores the highway’s history and impact. Later, explore Elk City, then continue to Amarillo. Check into your hotel and dine at the Big Texan for a Texas-style experience. (BREAKFAST and DINNER)
April 25, 2026: Amarillo to Albuquerque — Leave Amarillo, stopping at Cadillac Ranch and the Route 66 halfway point in Adrian, TX. Proceed to New Mexico, visiting Route 66 landmarks in Tucumcari and Santa Rosa. Explore downtown Santa Fe, then head to Albuquerque to enjoy the historical Old Town with its traditional eateries and artisan shops. (BREAKFAST)
April 26, 2026: Albuquerque, NM to Flagstaff, AZ — Depart Albuquerque, stopping at Gallup’s historic El Rancho Hotel. Travel to Arizona’s Petrified Forest National Park for sightseeing, including the Painted Desert and Blue Mesa. Visit Crystal Forest and Winslow, AZ. End the day in Flagstaff for an evening of exploration.(BREAKFAST, LUNCH and DINNER)
April 27, 2026: Flagstaff, AZ to San Bernardino, CA — Drive from Flagstaff to Seligman, then continue along Route 66 to Kingman with a lunch stop at Mr. D’z Diner. Visit the ghost town of Oatman and the Route 66 Mother Road Museum in Barstow. Conclude in San Bernardino, staying at the Wigwam Motel.(BREAKFAST, LUNCH and DINNER)
April 28, 2026: Hollywood-Santa Monica, CA — Have breakfast at a diner, then take a Hollywood tour, visiting landmarks like the Hollywood Sign and Rodeo Drive. Lunch on your own, followed by a visit to Santa Monica Pier, the end of Route 66. Conclude with a farewell dinner on the pier. (BREAKFAST and DINNER)
April 29, 2026: Travel Day — Transfer to the Los Angeles Airport for your departure flight home. (BREAKFAST)
