Day 2 Sunday, September 20, 2026
After breakfast at the hotel, we check out and depart for New Bern, North Carolina. Have lunch on your own and free time in downtown New Bern to shop. Don’t miss a stop at the Birthplace of Pepsi-Cola!
Visit the North Carolina History Center and tour Tryon Palace – served as the first permanent capitol of North Carolina and was home to Royal Governor William Tryon and his family
Check into the Doubletree New Bern Riverfront. Enjoy a cocktail on the hotel’s waterside deck (on own).
Enjoy included dinner this evening at The Chelsea – An upscale American eatery in a renovated historic building in the heart of downtown. Menu TBD

Day 3 Monday, September 21, 2026
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before checking out. Then we depart on a Historic Trolley Tour. Discover three centuries of history and architectural beauty in a comprehensive 90-minute trolley tour of historic downtown New Bern. Professional guides entertain you with fascinating details, historical narratives, and true stories of this former royal capital that was founded in 1710. You are sure to be enchanted by the city’s unique beauty and charm.
Next, enjoy lunch included at the famous Sanitary Fish Market & Restaurant, a Morehead City Waterfront staple.
After lunch depart down the road to Ft. Macon State Park for a ranger-led tour. A restored pre-Civil War fort that offers extensive exhibits to educate visitors in the fort’s history and the natural surroundings.
Check into Beaufort Hotel in Beaufort, NC for 2 nights – Dinner on your own. (B, L)
Day 4 Tuesday, September 22, 2026
Enjoy breakfast at your leisure in the hotel. Today we will visit the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum & Heritage Center. Hear from a storyteller, and have time to explore the museum on your own. Enjoy a box lunch included.
Next, you will enjoy a narrated scenic Cruise to Cape Lookout – Experience the beauty of the Crystal Coast with sparkling clear waters and pristine beaches. See the wild ponies that call Shackleford home (pending ponies present). Continue to Cape Lookout for a photo opportunity at the Lighthouse and beach time.
Board the ferry to return to the Docks and depart for hotel – Dinner on your own. (B, L)
Day 5 Wednesday, September 23, 2026
Enjoy breakfast at hotel and check out. Then depart for Beaufort Historic Site to board a Double Decker Bus Tour of Beaufort followed by free time to explore the boutique Beaufort shops and/or to visit the NC Maritime Museum (Maritime Museum on own) after the tour. The town’s charm lies primarily in its ties to the past—take your time strolling through streets lined with historic homes, an 18th-century graveyard shrouded in live oak, and the state’s oldest wood-framed courthouse.
Have lunch on your own at any one of the unique restaurants located in downtown Beaufort, several on the water.
Tonight, you will enjoy dinner at The Mulberry House – A jewel of the Inner Banks, where culinary vision and superior service meet comforting ambience. Situated in the heart of historic downtown Washington, North Carolina on the beautiful Pamlico River, watch the sunset and enjoy breathtaking views.

Day 6 Thursday, September 24, 2026
Enjoy breakfast at hotel and check out. Then board our coach and depart for the Penelope Barker House – Edenton Visitor Center where you will enjoy a scenic 45-minute trolley tour of historic Edenton, the prettiest small town in the South. This guided tour showcases the beautiful homes, buildings and waterfront of North Carolina’s first colonial capital, established in the early 1700s.
Enjoy lunch on your own in downtown Edenton before departing for our last night in Woodbridge, VA.
Tonight, you’ll enjoy a farewell dinner at Madigan’s Waterfront in Occoquan Historic District, VA.
