Arrive late afternoon at the Holiday Inn Express, Lincoln, New Hampshire, with time to relax and refresh before our first train excursion this evening.
CAFÉ LAFAYETTE DINNER TRAIN. Ride the rail in a beautifully restored Pullman dining cars, enjoying five courses of fine food served to you in the Grand European manner. As dinner is served, period music keeps time with the rail’s rhythmic rumbling, punctuated by the haunting wail of the engine’s whistle. BREAKFAST at your hotel, then we meet our local guide for a day of touring.
Travel through the WHITE MOUNTAINS – through notches carved out by glaciers, mountain passes and scenic overlooks. Your guide is well versed in the history, geology and lore of the area. These fascinating details will be imparted to you as you enjoy your travel from place to place today.
Arrive at the Cog Railway time for the gift shop and museum. (BOX LUNCH included)
THE WORLDS FIRST MOUNTAIN CLIMBING COG RAILWAY. Enjoy a Scenic Train Ride to the Summit of Mount Washington, the Northeast’s Highest Peak! Trains run Rain, Snow or Shine & may be Steam or Diesel powered. The round-trip cog ride takes three hours, including one hour at the summit. We recommend that you bring a camera and extra jacket or sweater. Some trains are fired by coal — so dress accordingly.
ROCK’S ESTATE MOOSE AND BEAR EXPERIENCE in scenic Bethlehem, a 1400-acre country estate, rich in history, with stunning views of the White Mountains. This natural-history program offers valuable insights into New Hampshire’s most iconic animals and their habitat.

An authentic, old-fashioned general store, family-owned since 1896! On site maple sugar house, 5-time winner of “Best Maple Syrup in New Hampshire”. Groceries, souvenirs, and the area’s largest selection of maple syrup and maple sugar products.
Ride the CONWAY SCENIC RAILWAY and enjoy some of the most dramatic natural scenery in the East as you travel through spectacular Crawford Notch – past sheer bluffs, steep ravines, cascading brooks and streams, panoramic mountain vistas, across
Frankenstein Trestle and Willey Brook Bridge en-route to North Conway station. As you travel through this rugged terrain, you can begin to appreciate what a remarkable engineering achievement constructing this railroad almost 140 years ago. KANCAMANGUS HIGHWAY – One the most scenic routes in America, “The Kanc”, is officially the section of Route 112 that is both an attraction and a destination.

BREAKFAST at your hotel, then we CHECK OUT and travel to Meredith, NH.
FALL FOLIAGE SPECIAL TRAIN. This train travels north from Meredith, traveling by lakes Waukewan & Winona and along the Pemigewasset River, to Plymouth. The destination is the Common Man Inn in Plymouth for a HOT BUFFET LUNCHEON.
Return back to Meredith Station and travel home! (B,L)
