Day One – Wednesday, June 7, 2026
Travel to Columbus Ohio for overnight stay enroute to Kentucky. Staying at the Drury Inn and enjoying the 5:30pm Kickback.
Day Two – Thursday, June 8, 2026
Journey to the Northern Kentucky region, an area on the banks of the Ohio River that includes cites such as Newport and Covington.
Our tour will begin by visiting Revival Vintage Bottle Shop & Bar in Covington, to learn about and sample some rare and historic bourbon and a tour of the vintage bottle display area.
Take a walking tour of Newport with our guide who will tell the secrets of Newport’s life as a gangster hot spot during the Prohibition era.
Check into our overnight accommodation, then take a scenic cruise on the Belle of Cincinnati, one of the most beloved activities on the Ohio River while enjoying the scenery and a delicious dinner. (B,D)
Day Three – Friday, June 9, 2026
Begin today south to Lexington, Kentucky. When we arrive head to Mill Ridge Farm to learn about the area’s legacy of Thoroughbred farming, meet horses up close and enjoy a delicious lunch.
Next up is Kentucky Horse Park, where we learn about all things equestrian. A horse-drawn trolley tour is a great way to explore the entire complex. At the Hall of Champions, meet horses that have retired after illustrious racing careers.
From here, we take a short trip to the town of Midway to Bluegrass Distillers, to enjoy a tour and a guided tasting experience in the converted 1835 farmhouse. A ranger led tour around the site, now a national monument, to point out its French-inspired architecture, will tell about the enslaved people who built its walls and show its authentic Civil War cannons.

Day Four – Saturday, June 10, 2026
Today we checkout and depart for Louisville Kentucky, the largest city in the state.
Our first visit will be to the Frazier History Museum for an up-close experience with 1920’s artifacts that tell the story of Kentucky’s history. Among the highlights is an exhibition called America’s Native Spirit that features details of Kentucky’s bourbon heritage, as well as a collection of more than 400 bottles from distilleries around the state.
Take a short walk across the street to the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory, where you’ll learn about the history and manufacturing process of the most famous piece of equipment in sports history.
Check into our downtown hotel for a 2-night stay – after a short break at the hotel, we head to the Paristown Pointe neighborhood for a delightful Roaring ‘20s speakeasy dinner in a private space at the Stoneware & Co. showroom. (B, D)
Day Five – Sunday, June 11, 2026
We begin our second day in Louisville with a wonderful overview tour of the city with Trolley de ‘Ville. Next, an immersive historic bourbon tasting at the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience, followed by a tour and lunch at The Brown Hotel, birthplace of Kentucky’s famous Hot Brown open-face sandwich.
After lunch, we will head to Churchill Downs, where you will take in a film, see exhibits and hands-on experience at the Kentucky Derby Museum before heading up to the grandstands for an evening of food, drinks and Thoroughbred racing. (B, L, D)
Day Six – Monday, June 12, 2026
Depart Louisville for Williamstown Kentucky and the ARK Encounter, it is the largest timber frame structure in the world. An experience like no other, from the moment you turn the corner, and the towering Ark comes into view, you’ll experience the pages of the Bible like never before. Enjoy lunch include her at the Emzara’s Kitchen.

Day Seven – Tuesday, June 13, 2026
Today your tour comes to an end. As you venture home, take the spirit of Kentucky with you! (B)
