Wednesday, June 18, 2025 – Arrive Chicago

Today you will travel to the Windy City, Chicago, and meet your local tour director.  After some free time for lunch on your own, take a short walk to the starting point of “The Mother Road.” There is no better place to start your Route 66 experience than at the Historic Route 66 Begin Sign where you are sure to want a few pictures.  Next, check into your hotel in the heart of Chicago. After some time to relax and freshen up, join the group for a Chicago style deep dish pizza dinner at a local restaurant (Giordano’s or The Exchequer). Then finish the day with a wonderful Evening Architecture River Cruise, the city’s architecture takes on a whole new life as it begins its transition from day to night.

Thursday, June 19, 2025 – Route 66 Chicago – Springfield, IL

Check out from Palmer House A Hilton Hotel and just a few blocks from the start of Route 66, Lou Mitchell’s has been dubbed the “first stop on the Mother Road.” Here you will enjoy a classic American Breakfast experience, complete with fluffy pancakes, Belgian waffles and shakes—not to mention what the neon sign proclaims “the world’s finest coffee.” After breakfast, depart Chicago and begin your journey down the old road driving on Old Route 66 wherever possible. Stop for lunch on own in Pontiac and then enjoy additional Route 66 stops in Towanda and Normal along the way. Arrive Springfield, IL and visit the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum which documents the life of the 16th U.S. President, Abraham Lincoln, and the course of the American Civil War. After checking into your hotel, join the group for a fun dinner and Route 66 nostalgia at Motorheads Route 66 Bar & Grill. Here you will find a Route 66 and classic car museum along with a fun car theme restaurant.

Friday, June 20, 2025 – Route 66 St. Louis – Springfield, MO

This morning, travel to St. Louis along Route 66 for touring of the Gateway Arch including a tram ride to the top. After time for lunch on own, continue west on the Old Road to an iconic stop, Meramec Caverns. Beneath the fertile rolling hills of the Meramec Valley, lies a complex of mineral formations and color as rare and unique as they are beautiful. Enjoy a guided tour of these beautiful caverns, then continue to Cuba with time to explore the 14 amazing murals. Explore more sights along the Route 66 corridor including the world-famous Route 66 Giant Rocking Chair and the Giant Faucet. Arrive in Springfield, MO for touring of the History Museum on the Square and learn how Route 66 got its name, follow by a stop at the Route 66 Visitors Center.  Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

Saturday, June 21, 2025 – Route 66 Springfield – Tulsa

After breakfast, depart Springfield with a Route 66 Stop in Carthage, then travel Route 66 into Kansas with a picture stop at Cars on the Route in Galena. Cross into Oklahoma and arrive in Miami for touring of the historic Coleman Theater. Lunch today will be included.  In the afternoon, enjoy stops at Ed Gallaway’s Totem Pole Park and the Blue Whale as you travel the Mother Road to Tulsa for a two night stay. Later, transfer to The Mother Road Market with free time to explore and have dinner on your own.

Sunday, June 22, 2025 – Will Rogers – Route 66 Roadfest

After a leisurely morning, take a short drive to Claremore for touring of the Will Rogers Memorial Museum.  The 19,052-square-foot museum memorializes entertainer Will Rogers and houses artifacts, memorabilia, photographs, and manuscripts pertaining to Rogers’ life. After a fun visit, return to Tulsa with the rest of the day free to enjoy the AAA Route 66 Road Fest. The bus will provide shuttle service between the hotel and the festival at set times between 12:00pm & 6:30pm. (shuttle times TBA)

Monday, June 23, 2025 – Route 66 – Oklahoma City

After a leisurely morning, depart Tulsa and continue your journey along historic Route 66 on your way to Chandler for touring of the Route 66 Interpretive Center. The Center takes visitors on a visually entertaining “drive” from the 1920’s through current-day Oklahoma on what author John Steinbeck called, in his classic novel, The Grapes of Wrath, our “Mother Road,” Route 66. Visit the Arcadia Round Barn and then arrive at POPS, an iconic stop along the Old Hwy. With over 600 different kinds of soda, a POPS soda guru can guide you to a refreshing alternative or an old time favorite.  Enjoy lunch on own. After lunch, continue to Oklahoma City and arrive at the First Americans Museum for touring.  In one place, visitors experience the collective histories of 39 distinctive First American Nations in Oklahoma today. First Americans Museum shares the cultural diversity, history, and contributions of the First Americans.  Then check into your hotel located in the Bricktown area of Oklahoma City with some free time to explore on your own.  This evening, join the group for a Route 66 celebration dinner.

Tomorrow, we depart Route 66 and begin our journey east, along rt 40 across Arkansas and Tennessee. OR, if you choose the quickest way home take Southwest Airlines 5-hrs & 10-min with a layover Chicago.

After breakfast, we depart Oklahoma City and begin our return journey home with stops along the way from Fort Smith to Knoxville are Graceland and Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Other popular stops include US Marshal’s Museum and William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum. Tonight, arrive in Little Rock Arkansas, the capital city located on the Arkansas River.

RESERVATIONS:  To be FAIR and IMPARTIAL seat assignments will be taken at the time of booking your reservation.  Deposit of $100 per person. Final payment is due 60 days prior to departure.

CANCELLATIONS: Cancellations within 60 days from departure will be subject to a $100 fee per person, plus cost for tickets, meals, hotels and other non-recoverable expenses.

No Risk deposits for travelers – Fully refundable up to final payment (60-days prior to departure). After final payment, cancelled within 60-day, all monies paid will stay as a credit in your account until you are able to once again travel.
