Meet the Maine Tour Lobsterette who will give you coupons and walking maps before free time to explore the Old Port for lunch on your own. Next, be introduced to the waterfront on a narrated Portland Harbor cruise (3:30pm-5:00).  Learn why they are called the Calendar Islands as you pass historic forts and lighthouses, see the charming island cottages and harbor seals. Hear the Captain’s tales of what it’s like to live and work on Casco Bay.

Next, walk to dinner in the Old Port (5:30pm).

Check in to Hyatt Place Old Port for two nights in Portland’s historic Old Port.                                    (Dinner)

Meet your local guide for a narrated tour of Portland. You’ll see views of sea captain homes, the Portland Observatory and elegant Victoria Mansion as you drive through historic neighborhoods overlooking the islands of Casco Bay in Portland Harbor. Your tour includes a photo stop at Portland Head lighthouse, Maine’s most photographed beacon set in a breathtaking park with crashing surf.

Next, tour the Maine Historical Society Museum and Longfellow’s boyhood home.

You’re free to explore the Old Port for lunch on your own (coupons and walking maps provided) before regrouping back on the coach. Wonderful casual restaurants, pubs, galleries and unique shops to explore!

This afternoon, you’ll visit the Portland Museum of Art, known for its exquisite galleries featuring works from Maine artists such as Andrew Wyeth and Winslow Homer. Or relax back at the hotel and explore the fabulous art galleries and shops within walking distance of your hotel.

Don your souvenir Maine lobster hat for a festive Maine Lobster dinner with all the fixin’s – right on the harbor this evening!  Alternate menu offered for any land-lubbers of course!  Stroll back to the hotel along the gas lamp lit sidewalks at your leisure and enjoy the evening reflections on the harbor.                                                                                                    (Breakfast & Lobster Dinner)
