Day 1 – Wednesday, October 6, 2021
Make your way to Vacationland. Stop to meet “Lenny”, the life-size chocolate moose enroute. Welcome to Portland, a restored seaport and Maine’s largest city. Make your way along the charming waterfront with cobblestone streets and gas lamps.
Meet the Maine Tour Lobsterette who will give you coupons and walking maps before free time to explore the Old Port for lunch on your own. Next, be introduced to the waterfront on a narrated Portland Harbor cruise (3:30pm-5:00). Learn why they are called the Calendar Islands as you pass historic forts and lighthouses, see the charming island cottages and harbor seals. Hear the Captain’s tales of what it’s like to live and work on Casco Bay.
Next, walk to dinner in the Old Port (5:30pm).

Day 2 – Thursday, October 7, 2021
Enjoy an included breakfast at the hotel.
Meet your local guide for a narrated tour of Portland. You’ll see views of sea captain homes, the Portland Observatory and elegant Victoria Mansion as you drive through historic neighborhoods overlooking the islands of Casco Bay in Portland Harbor. Your tour includes a photo stop at Portland Head lighthouse, Maine’s most photographed beacon set in a breathtaking park with crashing surf.
Next, tour the Maine Historical Society Museum and Longfellow’s boyhood home.
You’re free to explore the Old Port for lunch on your own (coupons and walking maps provided) before regrouping back on the coach. Wonderful casual restaurants, pubs, galleries and unique shops to explore!
This afternoon, you’ll visit the Portland Museum of Art, known for its exquisite galleries featuring works from Maine artists such as Andrew Wyeth and Winslow Homer. Or relax back at the hotel and explore the fabulous art galleries and shops within walking distance of your hotel.
Don your souvenir Maine lobster hat for a festive Maine Lobster dinner with all the fixin’s – right on the harbor this evening! Alternate menu offered for any land-lubbers of course! Stroll back to the hotel along the gas lamp lit sidewalks at your leisure and enjoy the evening reflections on the harbor. (Breakfast & Lobster Dinner)
Day 3 – Friday, October 8, 2021
Before checking out, enjoy your included breakfast then depart for Freeport, home of sporting goods king, L.L. Bean
Have lunch on your own and free time to see the giant Bean boot and explore the village with its great shopping and restaurants. Next, stop for a photo of Maine’s southernmost lighthouse, the Nubble Light in Cape Neddick near York Beach. From Nubble Light you will also spot the infamous Boon Island Lighthouse, located just offshore.
Depart for home with your salty, seaport memories! (Breakfast)
