Day Two
Mount Washington COG Railway, THE WORLDS FIRST MOUNTAIN CLIMBING COG RAILWAY. Enjoy a Scenic Train Ride to the Summit of Mount Washington, the Northeast’s Highest Peak! Trains run Rain, Snow or Shine & may be Steam or Diesel powered. The round-trip cog ride takes approximately three hours, generally including one hour stop at the summit.
We recommend that you bring a camera and an extra jacket or sweater. Remember, some trains are fired by coal — so dress accordingly. Enjoy a box LUNCH upon arrival at the Cog Railway.
The most famous route for foliage viewing has to be the Kancamagus Highway in the White Mountains, which stretches from Lincoln to North Conway. Find spectacles of fall color farther north in the state forests near Franconia Notch and Crawford Notch on our return to our Resort.
Return to Indian Head Resort to refresh for DINNER included..
