DAY 1: Thursday, May 11, 2023

Travel today across New York to the Courtyard by Marriott Toledo Rossford/Perrysburg, Ohio overnight.

DAY 2: Friday, May 12, 2023

Breakfast is included at the hotel, then we check-out and depart for Grand Rapids, MI

Today’s tour begins at Frederick Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park with a Tram tour of the outside gardens. Your visit will include a $15 lunch voucher and the Lena Meijer Tropical Conservatory, featuring rock landscapes, waterfall, and exotic plants. Followed by free time to visit the gift shop!

Check into your hotel for the next 2-nights at Tru by Hilton Grand Rapids, before departing for dinner at Pietro’s Italian Restaurant with a choice of entrée upon arrival at the restaurant.

DAY 3: Saturday, May 13, 2023

Breakfast is included at the hotel before we make our way to Holland, MI. for Tulip Time……

Upon arrival we will meet our costumed step-on guide for a tour of Holland. Part of Tulip Time’s charm is the full immersion into the history of Holland and how Dutch culture played its role.

Following the tour, visit the Tulip Time Artisan Market. Explore the market and enjoy an included lunch. Following in the steps of more than 20 years of tradition, experience over 150 juried artisans with their handmade goods. Dutch Dance performances will be happening throughout the market event times.

Next, you’re sure to enjoy the Annual Tulip Time Parade with Reserved Grandstand Seating.

Before returning to our hotel, we will stop for a visit to Windmill Island Gardens. Dinner included.

DAY 4: Sunday, May 14, 2023

Breakfast included at the hotel, check-out and depart for Sleeping Bear Dunes, voted “The Most Beautiful Place in America.”   Our guide will give you a view of Michigan that is simply spectacular!

Next, depart for Traverse City, The Cherry Capital of the World. Here you will enjoy lunch on your own with time for shopping at the Cherry Republic, with over 200 Cherry-based Products.

Depart for Petoskey to meet our local guide for a fun tour of this fascinating town. Learn about the native American residents, see examples of Victorian architecture which include over 450 cottages, many of which were built before 1900. Visit the area’s newest resort community of Bay Harbor which emerged in 1993 on the site of a former cement plant. Learn about Ernest Hemingway’s connection to the Petoskey Area and how Petoskey got its moniker as the “Land of the Million Dollar Sunsets” which is still used today.

Tour ends at Stafford’s Perry Hotel, overlooking Traverse Bay; welcoming visitors to the crown jewel of Michigan’s “Gold Coast.” Enjoy breathtaking vistas of the “Million Dollar Sunset” with dinner included.

DAY 5: Monday, May 15, 2023

Breakfast is included at the hotel, check-out and depart for Mackinaw City to meet Mike, our step-on guide, for a tour across the Mackinac Bridge to arrive St. Ignace to board our Ferry to Mackinac Island.

As you step upon the island you will feel like you have stepped back in time. Board our own horse drawn carriage ride to the Grand hotel for a tour of the hotel and outdoors to see the exotic landscaping, and the Esther Williams Swimming Pool. Discover a particularly photogenic stop in the Secret Garden.

The tour concludes with The Grand Hotel’s famous buffet lunch and then take some time to relax on the hotel’s 660-foot Grand Hotel’s Front Porch, the world’s largest and most spectacular view of the straits.

Next, enjoy a carriage tour of this picturesque island, a déjà vu of the movie “Somewhere in Time”!

Tour ends at the Bicycle Street Inn on Main Street Downtown for a free evening to explore on your own.

DAY 6: Tuesday, May 16, 2023

Continental Breakfast is included at the Bicycle Street Inn. The day is free to explore Mackinac Island. Visit Mackinac Island’s unique shops and be sure to taste some of the famous Mackinac Island fudge.

Board ferry to Mackinaw City, where our coach awaits our arrival back on the mainland to depart for Thunder Bay Resort, a family run resort, nestled in the beauty of Northern Michigan.

This evening step back in time as you board a horse drawn carriage that takes you over the Thunder Bay River into the woods to the beautiful Elk Antler Log Cabin. Warm yourself by the massive fireplace and savor the delicious aromas put forth as staff prepare your gourmet dinner, while sampling several wines.

DAY 7: Wednesday, May 17, 2023

Breakfast is included before departing for Fairview Organic Maple Farm. See the original Sugar Shack built in the early 1900’s by the Amish family that settled the land. Learn about the modern techniques used to tap over 2,500 Maple Trees with tubing and vacuum. Then sample one of Judy’s Maple Cookies.

Next, visit the Antique Toy & Fire Truck Museum. Home to over 60 motorized fire trucks, it has the largest collection of fire trucks in the world, including the world’s largest and most famous fire truck, the NYFD Super Pumper. Lunch is included at the museum.

Travel to Toledo Ohio and arrive at the Courtyard by Marriott, same Courtyard from 7-nights ago when we begin this adventure Exploring Michigan and the Tulip Time Parade!  Dinner on own this evening.

DAY 8: Thursday, May 18, 2023

Breakfast is included at the hotel before departing for home.

ROOM PREFERENCE: We offer both two queen bed rooms and single king bed rooms. Please let us know your preference and we will do our best to match you to that room.

RESERVATIONS:  To be FAIR and IMPARTIAL seat assignments will be taken at the time of booking your reservation.  Deposit of $100 per person. Final payment is due 60 days prior to departure.

CANCELLATIONS: Cancellations within 60 days from departure will be subject to a $100 fee per person, plus cost for tickets, meals, hotels and other non-recoverable expenses.
