Day 1, Wednesday May 28, 2025

Start at Hagley Museum:

Begin where the DuPont family’s journey got rolling, along the gently flowing Brandywine Creek at Hagley Museum, where the original gunpowder mills still stand, and where the future industrial giant’s story is told in engaging exhibits. Marvel at historic patent models at Hagley’s new “Nation of Inventors” then stroll the gardens and visit the original DuPont family mansion. Box Lunch included upon arrival.

Check in to the Hyatt Place Wilmington Riverfront, a gorgeous picture-perfect location for a 2-night stay.

Tonight, dine at the 18th century Columbus Inn, before you retire to the comfort of your hotel.

Day 2, Thursday, May 29, 2025

Morning visit at Nemours Estate:

A soaring memorial bell tower greets your arrival at Nemours Mansion, a 102-room masterpiece of Gilded Age inspired by Versailles’, graced with dramatic views of gilded statues and sparkling fountains, 200-acres of formal French gardens, and a Chauffeur’s Garage housing vintage automobiles.

Travel to Historic New Castle:

Overlooking the Delaware River, Historic New Castle is the oldest continuously occupied town in the Delaware Valley. Our guided walking tour of the Historic New Castle Green features some of the landmark sites in one of Delaware’s first settlements. The New Castle Court House Museum is part of the First State National Historical Park, Delaware’s first court and capital in the heart of historic New Castle. Enjoy a Box Lunch upon arrival before our walking tour of Historic New Castle.

Nestled in the heart of Delaware’s beautiful Brandywine Valley, our extraordinary museum, garden, and library offer a variety of exhibitions. We’re known for our magnificent collection of American decorative arts on display through Henry Francis du Pont’s former home and showcased in our permanent and rotating gallery spaces. You can spend the day enjoying our famous 60-acre naturalistic garden, carefully designed by H. F. du Pont, and the estate’s 1,000 acres of rolling hills, meadows, and woodlands.

Discover the Winterthur Garden Tram Tour and learn the history of Winterthur on this 30-minute narrated tour. The tour begins at the Visitor Center and ends at the museum, with a stop at Enchanted Woods.

Enjoy your box lunch in Winterthur’s Pavilion Café before departing for Home.

We encourage you to book early to accommodate any special needs and to assure that members of your party will be seated together. We reserve the right to assign seats when necessary.

ROOM PREFERENCE: We offer both two queen bed rooms and single king bed rooms. Please let us know your preference and we will do our best to match you to that room.

RESERVATIONS:  To be FAIR and IMPARTIAL seat assignments will be taken at the time of booking your reservation.  Deposit of $100 per person. Final payment is due 60 days prior to departure.

CANCELLATIONS: Cancellations within 60 days from departure will be subject to a $100 fee per person, plus cost for tickets, meals, hotels and other non-recoverable expenses.

TRAVEL INSURANCE: Is available and recommended due to unforeseen circumstances that can arise and if they do, we want you to be protected BEFORE and DURING your tour. Travel Insurance
