10:30 am Visit HERITAGE HOLIDAYS at HISTORIC DEERFIELD. You will start with an ORIENTATION VIDEO and your guide will then present and overview of Historic Deerfield. She will then share some “MYSTERY OBJECTS” with you, for you to learn what they are and about life in the village. There will be a COOKING DEMONSTRATION at a fireside hearth you will then tour the STEBBINS HOUSE. Each guest receives a coupon for the gift shop.
12:30 pm BUFFET LUNCH at the DEERFIELD INN.
2:00 pm YANKEE CANDLE FLAGSHIP STORE. Arrive for touring, shopping. It’s always Christmastime at the Bavarian Christmas Village. Your adventure continues in the Black Forest on to the Village Square past the waterfall beside the moat over the drawbridge to the Nutcracker Castle. After that you must definitely visit Santa’s Toy Factory.
3:30 pm Travel to Old Sturbridge Village.
4:00 pm CHECK IN at the PUBLICK HOUSE HISTORIC INN, in Sturbridge MA. After refreshing from a day of touring, enjoy DINNER.
CHRISTMAS BY CANDLELIGHT at OLD STURBRIDGE VILLAGE is an evening filled with New England holiday traditions, live musical performances, storytelling, sleigh rides, festive foods, a roaring bonfire, and strolls around the decorated Village Common. Be sure to visit North Pole Village where families will find Santa and his whimsical elves, Mrs. Claus’ Bake Shop, a magical talking Christmas tree, and an expanded train display. 11:00 am Next, it’s on to OAKWOOD FARM CHRISTMAS BARN a 160-year-old barn with thousands of ornaments, Nativities, Santa’s, Carolers and wreaths, center pieces and other creations made on the farm.
12:30 pm CHRISTMAS MEMORIES at the SALEM CROSS INN – “A traditional New England turkey dinner takes center stage” Join our performers, servers and everyone else in the hall for a wassail toast…During the winter months the Salem Cross Inn is a captivating scene. The decorations throughout the building are a joy to see. Next, ready to entertain you with a performance of ‘A Child’s Christmas in Wales’, and sing-along to your favorite Christmas Carols.
3:30 pm Travel to Bright Nights
4:00 pm In the late afternoon see the BRIGHT NIGHTS HOLIDAY LIGHT DISPLAY. Set in Springfield’s historic 750-acre Forest Park, a perfect backdrop for the more than 500,000 twinkling lights. Springfield was the birthplace of the author of Dr. Seuss books. You will marvel as you drive past dozens of holiday scenes. The two-and-a-half-mile drive turns us all into children again. (B,L)
