Check in to your home for the evening in Newport News, Virginia. Dinner is on your own tonight.
Day 2 Sunday, May 1
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel then check-out – today we arrive in Norfolk, Virginia, for the amazing splendor of the Virginia International Tattoo from your premium seats! The most spectacular display of inspirational music, majestic massed pipes and drums, show stopping Drill Team maneuvers, elegant dancers in colorful costumes, and more…. you do not want to miss this show! Lunch will be included.
Check in to your Outer Banks hotel in Kill Devil Hills, for a 2-night stay, just steps from the sand!!

Day 3 Monday, May 2
After enjoying a leisurely breakfast at your hotel, we depart for the Corolla Wild Horses Tour – On this narrated tour, you will travel behind the dunes to the neighborhoods where the wild horses graze.
Next, we meet our local guide for a day of touring the Outer Banks. Visit the Wright Brothers Museum and Monument and for those who wish can take a walking tour up to the top of the monument.
Visit the Village of Manteo for lunch on your own and free time to visit the shops. From the shops you can take a short walk over to the Roanoke Marshes Lighthouse. Meet at Festival Park with so much to see – the movie The Legend of Two Paths, showcasing the arrival of the first English Colonists from the Native American Perspective. See also a replica sailing ship, Elizabeth II, and the English Settlement.
Enjoy waterfront dining this evening at Basnight’s Lone Cedar Cafe.
Tonight, enjoy the Lost Colony Outdoor Drama – Millions have seen the compelling story that celebrates the 117 English men, women, and children whose dream still lives on in this American original.
Return to your hotel for a restful night’s sleep after a full day of touring. (B,D)
Day 4 Tuesday, May 3
After breakfast, check out, and meet your local guide. Your first stop today will be at The Cape Hatteras National Seashore and Lighthouse, which protects one of the most hazardous sections of the Atlantic Coast.
Next, visit the Graveyard Atlantic Museum. Learn of the unpredictable ocean currents and violent storms that have made these shore the final resting place for thousands of ships and seaman.
Visit the Ocracoke Lighthouse, the second oldest operating lighthouse in the nation. From here, we ferry to Cedar Island, a small fishing village in eastern North Carolina. It is known for its seafood, wild horses and unique way of life and is a quaint, memorable part of North Carolina’s Crystal Coast.
Overnight in Morehead City, NC with beautiful views from this waterfront hotel. (B)
Day 5 Wednesday, May 4
After breakfast we check-out and travel to Southport, NC, for a ferry ride to Bald Head Island – join our guide for a tour of the island, to include a visit to Smith Island Museum and Old Baldy Lighthouse.
Arrive in beautiful North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for a 2-night stay at our oceanfront hotel.
Dinner included at Original Benjamin’s Seafood – A 170 item calabash seafood buffet where you will find all your seafood favorites. Non-seafood lover, there is a selection of beef, chicken, BBQ and pasta.
Next, enjoy the show at the Alabama Theatre, an evening of singing, dancing, and comedy. (B,D)
Day 6 Thursday, May 5
After a delicious breakfast, our group will enjoy a Shelling and Lighthouse Cruise on The Carolina Rover – an Eco-tourism cruise. Cruise through a bird-watcher’s paradise to South Carolina’s oldest lighthouse, the Georgetown Light. During low tide, you will then be able to explore and beach comb where the sea unfolds her secrets depositing an ever-changing array of shelling opportunities.
Enjoy dinner this evening at a local restaurant. Following dinner, enjoy The Carolina Opry Show – entertainment that blends humor and dancing with everything from rock ‘n roll, Broadway and country to classic hits, pop melodies and gospel. (B,D)
Day 7 Friday, May 6
After breakfast, sit back and relax as we travel to our overnight destination in Columbia, Maryland.
Dinner and a show are included this evening at Toby’s Dinner Theatre. (B,D)
Day 8 Saturday, May 7
After breakfast at the hotel, check out and travel home. Stop along the way for lunch and some free time for shopping enroute at Wilmington’s Riverfront Market. This bustling public marketplace in a historic warehouse on the banks of the Christina Rivers features vaulted ceilings, heavy timber construction, and exposed brick walls. (B)
