Day 1, Monday, August 31, 2020
Welcome to Vacationland! Travel to Freeport, home to the L.L. Bean flagship store and a myriad of outlet shops and restaurants. Lunch will be on your own with time for some shopping. Visit the Maine Wildlife Park to view native moose, deer, beaver and bears. Follow the scenic byway to the village of Rangeley, Maine the “Moosin’ Capitol of Maine” and check in to the charming Rangeley Inn for a three night stay. Located on the lake within walking distance to quaint shops and village antique shops. Enjoy a welcome reception and dinner. Relax on the wrap-around porch and listen to the loons after dinner tonight. (Dinner)
Day 2, Tuesday, September 1, 2020
After a deluxe continental breakfast at the hotel, you’ll take a narrated boat cruise on Rangeley Lake. The group will be split up between the boat cruise and the Rangeley Outdoor Sporting museum and the Oquossoc Union Log Church tour. You’ll meet with a local prospector along the banks of the Swift River, where you’ll look for those golden nuggets. Tour the Rangeley Outdoor Sporting Museum. Learn about the wooden boats and steamboats that traveled the lake and the hunters, fishermen and Native Americans who have flocked to the beautiful Lakes region for centuries. Step back in time at the unique Oquossoc Union Log Church – really made of logs in the 1916 and still in use today as a house of worship. There are a couple unique gift stores within walking distance as well. You’ll have an included lunch buffet at a local favorite restaurant, followed by activities that are all within walking distance. Photo stop at Height of the Land, one of Rangeley Lakes most scenic overlooks, before we depart for a unique gold panning expedition. Return to the Rangeley Inn where you’ll enjoy some relaxation time and an included dinner. (Deluxe Continental Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Day 3, Wednesday, September 2, 2020
Enjoy a deluxe continental breakfast this morning before you travel the scenic mountain region to Ricker Hill Orchard, you’ll tour cranberry bogs, apple orchards, and a cider mill. Learn how cranberries and apples are harvested and packed. Enjoy the scenic mountain views and a snack. Next, Travel to Livermore, Maine where you’ll step back in time at the Norlands Living History Museum. You’ll have a guided tour of this rural estate that housed seven famous brothers, participate You’ll take part in two programs including the “laugh and learn” program with the school marm and the busy cradle program that tells the story of Washburns and their seven famous sons who rose to serve as state governors, congressmen, a U.S. senator, Secretary of State, foreign ministers, a Civil War general, and a Navy captain and enjoy a country-style luncheon. Depending on the time of sunset, you’ll don your souvenir Moose Hat and grab your camera to go “Moosin” around the lake with a local guide aboard your motorcoach. Dusk is often the best time of day to spot these gentle giants and you’ll make stops at the most popular hang-outs for moose. Return to the Rangeley Inn where you’ll enjoy a relaxing evening at your leisure. (Deluxe Continental Breakfast, Lunch)
Day 4, Thursday, September 3, 2020
Enjoy your deluxe continental breakfast is included today before heading for a colorful ride to western MA. En Route stop at Yankee candle to make your own candles and tour the company store. Tour the world’s largest candle store with over 400,000 candles and over 200 fragrances. Stroll through a Bavarian Christmas Village, the Black Forest and Nutcracker Castle and the Yankee Candle Factory and Candle making Museum. Learn to dip your own. Lunch on own at Au Bon Pain café or one of the numerous venues within the store before departing for home with your Mountains and Moosin’ memories. (Deluxe Continental Breakfast)

RESERVATIONS: To be FAIR and IMPARTIAL seat assignments will be taken at the time of booking your reservation. Deposit of $100 per person. Final payment is due 60 days prior to departure.
CANCELLATIONS: Cancellations within 60 days from departure will be subject to a $100 fee per person, plus cost for tickets, meals, hotels and other non-recoverable expenses.
